Meet Chato
Chato spent more than a third of his life waiting in a rescue. That's a long time for a little guy to wonder when his turn would come — and now that he's settled into a foster home, it's clear he was worth the wait.
He's a sweet, gentle boy. He can be a tiny bit shy with new people at first, but give him a few minutes and he'll decide you're his. Once Chato loves you, he loves you completely.
Chato
His favorite thing in the world is a toy that's been thrown, so he can bring it right back and ask you to do it again. He likes exploring the backyard, napping on the sofa (with his human or without — he's not picky), and if you roll out a yoga mat, he'll stretch right alongside you. He's good on a leash and a happy passenger in the car, so weekend adventures are very much on the table.
Chato is a Pug and Chihuahua mix — a "Chug" — about four years old and 25 pounds, though he could stand to trim down just a little. He's neutered and fully vaccinated. He gets along well with the dog and the cat in his foster home. We haven't seen him around children yet; he isn't an aggressive dog by any stretch, but for a family with kids we'd suggest a couple of meet-and-greets with everyone present so you can all get to know each other first.
Chato is still learning what it means to live in a home. The rules of a house are all new to him, and he'll need a little time and patience while he figures them out. What he gives back is a whole lot of love. Whoever brings him home is going to be very, very lucky.
